CSS & XHTML Programming
Having lived in NY a good part of my life, I've seen some magnificent skyscrapers. Standing at the base of such a building and looking up, you wonder how something so tall can stay up without falling on the next building, which, in some instances, may only be a few hundred yards away. Answer: it's foundation.
Every website, whether it's one page or 10,000 pages, needs a good foundation. Although designing nice looking websites is important to Skylar, it’s just as important that our sites are structurally marked up using HTML/XHTML. Furthermore, our code is not only structurally sound, the markup is semantically written. In simplified terms, every tag is carefully considered based upon its meaning and not how it will look.
Sticking with our analogy of the Skyscraper, every building has a distinct appeal to it. So does every website. We use CSS to create the "clothing” - the distinct look and feel. But we not only use CSS to establish the design, we use it to control how each element relates to other elements – a distinction that often isn't talked about. Again, this complements what was discussed in the value of your design.
